Building Blocks of Interpreting Spring 2026

Throughout this 40-hour course (BBI), participants will explore beyond the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for a Professional Medical Interpreter. Practical scenarios are provided for hands-on practice to effectively implement the course material. The level of Subject Competence is assessed daily to confirm a thorough understanding of each covered concept.

This course is held virtually/online. It is an interactive and intensive 60-hour course that covers more than the essential foundation of a Professional Medical Interpreter’s required skills and knowledge. Participants have opportunities to practice with realistic scenarios to apply the course content effectively. Subject competence is evaluated each day of the course to ensure that each concept covered has been adequately understood.

Classes will be held on 8 consecutive Saturdays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Each day of the course, a half hour's lunch break will be provided from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Central Time).
